Moonphase was written as an add-on to the
KAL calendar program . It
can visualize the output of `kal -m' by displaying an image of the
moon with an X image viewer (e.g. xli, xv, ImageMagick's display).
Hence, if you don't have kal installed, you probably won't have any
particular use for this program.
This program is freeware.
